Why your BMI is important

Why your BMI is important:

When becoming a surrogate, agencies and IVF clinics will ask you about your weight to determine your BMI. BMI is Body Mass Index and it is a measure of your body fat based on your weight/height. Why is this important when becoming a surrogate?

You need to have healthy BMI in order to produce the appropriate amount of hormones to ovulate and menstruate. Having a BMI of under 20 is a problem for fertility and a BMI of over 30 can affect your response to IVF treatment and reduce the success rate of a cycle.
